Sergio Federico Nicolaci studied Classical and Modern Philosophy at Vita- Salute San Raffaele University, Milan (MA, BA and PhD). He completed his education with a Master's degree in Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 2016, in view of a career in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he earned a Master in Diplomacy at ISPI (Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale, Milano).

 

In 2009, before and during the protests over the re-election of Ahmadinejad, he was Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trainee at the Italian Embassy in Tehran under the supervision of Ambassador Alberto Bradanini. He dealt with the nuclear dossier, domestic political issues and the presidential elections. In 2010 he volunteered for duty at the Italian Consulate in Freiburg (Germany). In London he was member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).

 

He is the author and editor of a number of publications, including Patterns of Disintegrations. The EU and the Emerging European Order (Seattle 2012), Tempio vuoto. Crisi e disintegrazione dell’Europa (Milan 2012) and L’Evento (Milan 2016). In 2013 he received the “Frascati Filosofia” National Award (best Opera Prima) for the book Esserci e musica. Heidegger e l’ermeneutica musicale (Padua 2012).

 

He is currently serving as Political Adviser for the Holy See, Città del Vaticano.
